Introduction To Kloofing

Welcome to WILD COMPASS EXPERIENCES intro to Kloofing at Maretlwane, Magaliesburg.

Firstly we would like to thank you for choosing to explore your Wild Side with us.

What is Kloofing?  “Essentially, Kloofing is the art of following a mountain stream down its course by floating, jumping, sliding and swimming.”

Beautiful Maretlwane, near Mooi Nooi is about 1hr30 from Joburg, please be there 7 for 7:30am, coffee and rusks will be served on arrival.  It’s best to start the hike earlier rather than later while temperatures are still on the cooler side.

The hike into Castle gorge is roughly 10km long and depending on our group, should take about 6 to 8 hours. During the hike we will stop at various pools and waterfalls to relax and cool down before coming back down the kloof.  At some of the falls there are jumps which vary in height, these jumps are optional but really exhilarating if you’re up for it!!

We will end off the day back at Maretlwane.
